two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The London Borough of Lewisham on behalf of The Libraries Consortium (TLC) is procuring a contractor to provide Courier Services through a Framework Agreement to secure the safe and prompt movement of library stock (books) and other goods (CDs, DVDs, etc.) that would fit into a standard crate(s) as requested by the authority (CDs, DVDs, stationery, reports, leaflets, confidential documents etc.) within the individual local authority (internal) libraries and between libraries in the TLC (external). All stock will also be sorted by the Courier Service to ensure stock is delivered to the correct sites. The central exchange depot and suitable crates will be provided by the contractor
The Libraries Consortium (TLC) is a group of library services serving the following local authorities, namely: Barking & Dagenham, Brent, Croydon, Ealing, Enfield, Essex County Council/Thurrock, Hackney, Harrow, Havering, Hounslow, Kingston upon Thames, Lewisham, Luton County Council, Merton, Newham, Redbridge, Surrey County Council, Sutton, Tower Hamlets, and Waltham Forest. However it is expected that the Consortium will grow over the lifetime of the contract.
The Framework Agreement will be procured using the Find a Tender Open procedure and will be for an initial 2 years from 01.05.2022 with an option to extend by a further three years (two plus one years) at the discretion of the Council and Libraries Consortium members
