Associated British Ports (ABP) intend to procure a Contractor to deliver the design and construction of a 11,000m2 distribution center comprising warehouse and office accommodation and associated external works (including but not limited to its associated civils, landscaping, car parking, service yard and van storage) on a site covering approximately 24 acres at the Port of Cardiff as further detailed within Appendix 1 of this PQQ document.

II.2.4) Description of the procurementAssociated British Ports (ABP) intend to procure a Contractor to deliver the designand construction of a 11,000m2 distribution center comprising warehouse and officeaccommodation and associated external works (including but not limited to itsassociated civils, landscaping, car parking, service yard and van storage) on a sitecovering approximately 24 acres at the Port of Cardiff as further detailed withinAppendix 1 of this PQQ document. The overall duration of the design and constructionof the works, is to be 8 months. The start date is envisaged to be March 2022 whichwould result in completion of the whole of the works by October 2022. Whilst thestart and completion dates may move based on this procurement process, the overalldurations for the design and construction of the works will remain as 8 months. TheContract will include key dates and sectional completion dates including conditionsto be met for these dates as the Contractor will have to accommodate work (to beclearly defined in the scope and contract data part one) by others not employed byABP. ABP intend to engage with the successful bidder under the NEC 4 ECC OptionA form of contract with amendments which will include provisions for delaydamages. The successful Contractor is required to take on full responsibility for thedesign in its entirety including the design provided by the Client. The Contractor isto complete the design and construct the works. The total estimated contract valueis circa £25 million.
