two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Working holistically with partners to promoting health and wellbeing, taking account of the stage of growth, development and maturity of each individual, and the social and community context is essential. This ensures that children, young people and adults develop the knowledge and understanding, skills, capabilities and attributes which they need for mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing now and in the future.

The vision of the Mental Health Strategy in Scotland 2017-2027 as it relates to children and young people, supports the approach that children, young people and families should get the right help at the right time, expect recovery, and fully enjoy their rights, free from discrimination and stigma.

Aberdeen City Council are looking for a single Service Provider to provide a Counselling Service within the Aberdeen City Area. Where possible this must be provided face to face, however we would be willing to explore online provision also.

The successful Tenderer shall provide at all times suitably qualified and competent staff as approved by the Council to undertake the work.

All staff delivering counselling should hold the minimum qualifications detailed below:

Accredited member of either one of the following professional bodies:

- British Psychological Society (BPS)

- British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP); or

- COSCA Counselling and Psychology in Scotland or equivalent.

All requirements of the above professional bodies must be complied with.

PLEASE NOTE:

Scottish Government funding of 466,000 GBP is a recurring annual payment identified to support counselling in secondary schools and for children and young people aged 10 and above who have additional support needs.

Therefore the MAXIMUM Annual Budget available for this requirement is 466,000 GBP

Bids received in excess of this value will be disqualified from the tender process.
