The Old Magistrates’ Courts stand at the centre of the Bridewell Island complex of historic public buildings, which once comprised the central Police and Fire stations, and the headquarters of Bristol’s CID. The project will see the courthouse transformed into a Creative Enterprise Hub for small start-up businesses in the creative/ entertainment industries with supporting facilities for conferences, events, functions and performances. The income generated will be used for future maintenance, providing public access to the principal spaces, and to support CYN’s wider activities with young people. Throughout the project CYN are committed to providing training opportunities for young people. The construction value is expected to be in the region of GBP 5.5 Million and will be procured via a traditional procurement route with the consultant team currently undertaking the detailed design.
