two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Abbey Multi Academy Trust has decided to tender their catering services to investigate the financial and qualitative benefits they could be offered through this process. The schools involved are: -

 St Chad's C of E Primary

 Manston St James CE Primary

 Christ Church Upper Armley

 Holy Trinity C of E Primary

 Abbey Grange C of E Academy

 Bishop Young C of E Academy

 Lightcliffe Academy

Further specifics about each school are given later in the document under 'The Schools'.

The Contract Duration and Structure

The contract will be awarded for a three-year duration with the option of two additional, one-year extensions. This is subject to the satisfactory performance of the work.

A Group Manager is attached to this contract and currently basis the role at Abbey Grange CE Academy. This role includes a fuel card for transport between sites although no value is confirmed at this stage. Costs for this mileage should be considered within the management fee based on rotation of visits.

The Trust reserves the right to not award all schools or to award a contract at all.

It is the intention of the Trust to appoint a single contractor in order to maximise the benefits for all parties.

The quality of the service and the proposed budget for the second year 2026, will be reviewed three months before the expiry of the first twelve months. The Trust at this time reserves the right to terminate the contract should either the quality or future costs be unacceptable.

The proposed contract is available as a separate attachment.

The financial structure of the contract is designed to reflect the Trusts' aims to reward the Contractor in a fair manner and based upon contract delivery and to have an open-book agreement that is easily auditable. The Trust are looking for a monthly reporting schedule with the Operations Team where relevant data and planning is shared to support the analysis. This contract management will formulate part of the Key Performance Indicators for the contract.
