two.1.4) Short description

The University is seeking to enter into a Multi-Contractor Framework Agreement (Agreement) for the provision of Building Fabric Maintenance and Minor Building Works (Works) across its campus network.

Works may comprise new buildings, extensions to existing buildings, conversion/refurbishment of existing buildings, works to ensure compliance with various legislative requirements, e.g. legionella, fire safety, DDA, mechanical and electrical engineering works and enabling works in advance of major capital works projects.

This Agreement is a mechanism for engaging Main Contractors (Contractors) to deliver the range of Projects as required, the Contractors will be required to deliver the full Project which may include the needs for sub-contracting for mechanical, electrical, fit-out, painting and decorating, flooring as required.

For the purposes of the Agreement, Works are defined as any Project with a construction price of between £10,000 and £2,500,000 net of VAT.

The Agreement is split into three agreements (Bands). Band 1 is works that have a net construction value of 10,000 - 250,000 GBP. The Agreement will be for an initial period of 2 years with an option to extend by a further 24 months. It is anticipated that each year the University will spend 2,000,000 GBP with Contractors for this size project. The University anticipates awarding to between 6 and 8 Contractors as a result of this procurement exercise.
