Norfolk County Council (NCC) struggles with the number of qualified adopters and foster carers to place looked after children in care with, to provide a safe and nurturing environment. NCC regularly rely on the Adopt East program or other Local Authorities which can prove costly and removes a degree of control over the level of care provided to young citizens of Norfolk. The use of a suite of Virtual Reality training videos aims to increase these carers knowledge and understanding of lived trauma resulting in fewer placement breakdowns as well as increasing the number of successful conversions from initial meetings with prospective carers.The Council is seeking to have access to a readily available digital library of Virtual Reality training videos which contain a variety of acted scenarios showing the lived trauma and experiences of children in care as well as various interventions from carers showing how reactions from the carers will affect the outcome of a child’s behaviour.

The Council is seeking to have access to a readily available digital library of Virtual Reality training videos which contain a variety of acted scenarios showing the lived trauma and experiences of children in care as well as various interventions from carers showing how reactions from the carers will affect the outcome of a child’s behaviour. The videos should be available either in 2D format online or via Virtual Reality headsets offline. .
