Additional bed capacity and provision of additional funding for enhanced observations was required to support timely hospital discharges, which has led to an increased spend against the original contract value. The life time value of the contract has increased from £1,201,500 to £2,269,796. The effective date of modification is 01/11/2024

Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee.
Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances:
"Urgent circumstances provision was applied in line with the regulations due to increasing additional, unprecedented, demand and activity within the urgent care system, which is over and above forecast modelling and the commissioned services' capacity.
Additional bed capacity and provision of enhanced observations was required to support timely hospital discharges and enable flow within, which has led to an increased spend against the original contract value.
The decision to modify the contract was made by the ICB Chief Delivery Officer and the Deputy Chief Delivery Officer.
Declarations of interest were sought and none were declared."
