two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Internal cleaning services for 12 of the Trust's Academy Primary schools all of which have a service commencement date of 1st September 2021. The approximate cleaning area is 22,500 square metres. There are approximately 3,900 pupils across the 12 schools.
This contract involves the transfer of approximately 50 existing cleaning staff of which 26 are members of 4 Local Government Pension Schemes. (LGPS). TUPE regulations therefore apply to this contract. Bidders should be aware that they will be expected to manage the process of transferring all staff to their employment along with arranging for 'Admitted Body' status with the 4 relevant pension funds. Normally any actuarial costs associated with the LGPS pension scheme will be expected to be absorbed by the successful bidder. Bidders must therefore be able to demonstrate relevant experience of TUPE transfers and dealing with the issues associated with existing LGPS members transferring to their employment.
An additional Primary Academy's cleaning contract ends on 31/8/2022, and the new contract from this date will be initially awarded to the winner of this competition.
