Description
Swansea Council (The Council) is seeking suitably qualified and experienced provider/s who can deliver flexible Service for Children and Young People with additional learning need/s or disabilities the accessibility of play and leisure opportunities. Services must be appropriately registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) and capable of offering individual support, tailored to each child/young person needs. The contract is divided into four (4) separate lots;
Lot 1 - Access to Play in the Community
Lot 2 - Increasing provision of out of school hours (evenings, weekends and holidays) activities for children and young people affected by disability aged 4-13.
Lot 3 - Increasing provision of out of school hours (evenings, weekends and holidays) activities for children and young people affected by disability aged 11-19

The Service Provider will be responsible for helping children and young people to realise the above ambition by enabling them to participate in play activities of their choice within their local community wherever possible

Description
Provision of respite/short breaks outside of school hours. (This could be after 3pm Monday-Friday or on the weekend, term-time only.)
Encourage children with a disability to participate in mainstream activities where possible, it is recognised that there are children and families who will need more support. Even if children cannot access mainstreams activities with support it should not be a barrier to the child accessing activities which promote their wellbeing, that they enjoy taking part in and help them to achieve their potential. As well as providing a positive activity for the child, the Service is intended to offer parents and carers a short break from their caring responsibility.

The Service Purchaser aims to significantly improve the holiday play opportunities for those children unable to access mainstream provision, including those requiring additional medical intervention to support feeding, with a specific focus on summer holidays.
