Engagement process description

Places for People's current ERP contract has been in place for a decade, providing the backbone for our core business operations and supporting our strategic objectives across the organisation. This long-standing partnership has allowed us to manage our processes efficiently; however, as the contract is set to expire in 2029, it is essential that we begin to look ahead and evaluate the evolving technology landscape to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our business and stakeholders.

Recognising the significance of a potential transition, we are actively reaching out to the market as part of a comprehensive pre-market engagement exercise. Our aim is to assess the latest advancements in ERP solutions, including new functionalities, system architectures, and integration capabilities, as well as to understand the direction of industry best practices. This proactive approach will help us identify opportunities to enhance our operations, improve value for money, and ensure compatibility with both current and future organisational priorities.

By consulting with a range of potential suppliers, we hope to gather critical insights into the strengths and limitations of modern SaaS ERP offerings. These insights will directly inform the drafting of our tender documents, helping us to articulate requirements that are both ambitious and realistic, and aligned with the latest technological innovations. This process is designed not only to ensure a seamless transition when our current contract concludes, but also to position Places for People at the forefront of digital transformation within our sector.

Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that our next ERP investment provides a robust, flexible, and future-proof platform capable of underpinning our continued growth and success, while supporting our mission to deliver aspirational homes and communities.
