Scope

Description

Aston requires the provision of a Contractor(s) to provide waste management services for the following Lots:

Lot 1 Core Waste Collections

Lot 2 Hazardous and Chemical Waste (Laboratory)

Lot 3 Hazardous and Chemical Waste (Non-Laboratory)

Lot 4 Clinical and Pharmaceutical

Commercial tool

Establishes a framework

Total value (estimated)

  • £1,200,000 excluding VAT
  • £1,500,000 including VAT

Above the relevant threshold

Contract dates (estimated)

  • 2 March 2026 to 1 March 2028
  • Possible extension to 30 July 2031
  • 5 years, 4 months, 29 days

1. Core Waste Collections include:

• General Waste

• Dry Mixed Recyclables

• Food Waste

• Paper and Cardboard

• Glass Waste

• Green Waste

Lot 2. Hazardous and Chemical Waste (Laboratory)

Description

2. Hazardous, Chemical and Radioactive Waste includes:

• Chemical Waste (solvents, liquids and solids, including persistant organic pollutants)

• Biohazardous waste (inc. materials related to the Human Tissue Act, genetically modified materials and animal related materials)

• Various laboratory filters (ie, air and water filters).

• Radioactive waste

• Glass (laboratory)

• Plastics (laboratory)

• Hazardous Waste (outside of waste streams already specified)

  • £125,000 including VAT

• Paint and Varnishes

• Non-specialist Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Waste

• Refrigeration Equipment

• Engine Oils and machinery lubricants

• Confidential Wastepaper

Following an initial evaluation of the ITT stage, it is anticipated that a shortlist of the top 2 highest scoring tenderers from stage 1 will proceed to stage 2 of the Competitive Flexible Procedure to present.
