three.1) Conditions for participation

Insurance

• Contractors must hold:

• Public liability insurance with a minimum cover of £5 million

• Professional indemnity insurance of at least £1 million

• Employers' liability insurance (if applicable)

Health and Safety

• All work must be conducted in line with:

• The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

• Working at Height Regulations 2005

• AFAG and HSE guidance on tree work

• Method statements and risk assessments must be submitted prior to work starting. The contractor will ensure that Risk Assessments are carried out for all activities to be carried out during the course of the works, and for the use, storage and disposal of any hazardous materials highlighted in the CoSHH Assessments.

• If necessary the contractor will apply to the Forestry Commission for a felling licence. Process to be discussed upon commission of works.

three.1.3) Technical and professional ability

Tree works must be undertaken by individuals holding:

• Felling and Processing Trees Medium Trees over 380mm and up to 760mm (CS32)

• Aerial Tree Rescue Operations (CS38)

• Aerial Cutting of Trees Using Free-Fall Techniques (CS39)
