Description
Community Opportunities are an important contribution to Newcastle City Council's commitment to enabling people in Newcastle to age well, by providing support and carer relief that enables people to be socially connected to their community, to live as independently as possible and lead safe and active lives. It will offer flexible, high-quality, support, with a focus on connecting people to their communities, maximising independence, and helping to prevent admission into long term residential care or hospital. The approach of commissioning Community Opportunities will assist with creating a wider offer encompassing a continuum of social care-related support inclusive of four key areas: prevention, crisis, and long-term support.
The Contract will be awarded under 2 Lots:
Lot 1 - TWO Community Hub Zone Based Service covering the Four neighbourhood zones. One building base will operate in the North and East of the city and the other in the Inner West and Outer West of the city. Block contract.
Lot 2 - Satellite Flexible Service, city-wide to cover additional provision, split equally between successful providers.
Annual Rate Lot 1: £156,000.00 (Per one Community Hub - Building Base)
Annual rate Lot : up to £156,000.00 (unit price of £60.00 per day session, including transport)

Lot 1. Community Hub Zones Based Service
Description
TWO Community Hub Zone Based Service covering the Four neighbourhood zones. One building base will operate in the North and East of the city and the other in the Inner West and Outer West of the city. Contracts will be awarded to two highest scoring providers - for each provider to deliver service in each location.

Framework operation description
Lot 2 will be established as an Open framework under section 49 of the Act. The Framework will be re-awarded on or before the third anniversary of the commencement date. Subsequently, the Contracting Authority intends to award further successive frameworks at least every year until expiry of the Framework Agreement term. As such, Suppliers which have not been appointed to this Framework will have the opportunity to be appointed to the subsequent framework.
Interested Suppliers should note that when the Framework is re-awarded, there will be no limit on the number of Suppliers who can be party to the Framework. As such, Suppliers that are appointed to the Framework under this Procurement will have the opportunity to confirm whether they wish to be re-appointed on the basis of their original tender, or whether they wish to submit a revised tender.
Under the Framework, the prices for the services will be based on a fixed individual cost of the provision of services.
