North Lanarkshire Council (NLC) is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified contractors to participate in a procurement exercise for a framework agreement to undertake complex demolition and deconstruction services.

Scope of Works

The framework agreement will cover a range of complex demolition and deconstruction projects, including but not limited to:

-High-rise residential buildings

-Large-scale commercial properties, such as shopping centres

-Low-rise residential and commercial buildings

Key Requirements

Contractors interested in participating in the framework agreement should possess the following:

-Proven experience in undertaking complex demolition and deconstruction projects of similar scale and complexity.

-Demonstrated expertise in safe working practices, environmental compliance, and risk management.

-A strong commitment to sustainability and the adoption of environmentally friendly demolition techniques.

-A robust health and safety record and a commitment to the wellbeing of workers.

-Financial stability and the capacity to deliver projects on time and within budget.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

North Lanarkshire Council is embarking on an ambitious regeneration programme to transform communities across the authority. This includes the redevelopment of several multi-storey and low-rise residential blocks in key locations, such as Motherwell, Coatbridge, Airdrie, Kilsyth, Wishaw, and surrounding areas.

Demolition Framework

To support this significant regeneration initiative, North Lanarkshire Council is seeking to establish a framework agreement with experienced and qualified demolition contractors. This framework will enable efficient delivery of future demolition projects, fostering long-term partnerships between the Council and awarded contractors.

Expression of Interest

Interested contractors are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to demonstrate their capabilities and suitability for inclusion in the framework.

Market Consultation

To refine the procurement process and ensure it meets the needs of both the Council and the supply chain, North Lanarkshire Council is conducting a market consultation. Interested parties are encouraged to complete a short survey to provide valuable feedback that will help shape the framework.
