Description
The Environmental Protection Act 1990 allows Chichester District Council (CDC), Adur District Council and Worthing Borough Council (A&W) to collect commercial waste from businesses and a charge be levied for this service. The Council's Business Waste and Recycling Service is well established, has a good local reputation and has successfully expanded in recent years.
The Councils have a duty of care to ensure all waste collected is properly disposed of and must therefore have a contract in place with a supplier to provide processing and disposal services.
Tender documentation is being readied. To support this, both CDC and A&W are currently exploring options in respect of their requirements. It is expected at present that A&W requirements will largely mirror that of CDC. Confirmation of this will be available prior to publication of tender documents.

- Mixed municipal waste - black bag waste (EWC code 20 03 01).
- Biodegradable kitchen and canteen waste (EWC code 20 01 08).

For information, the below waste types will not form part of this contract;
- Clinical / medical waste.

To achieve this aim, the Councils kindly ask interested Contractors to complete and submit a Market Engagement questionnaire. This questionnaire can be found here - Hampshire County Council Electronic Tendering Site - home. All answers provided will offer insight into how the market might consider this opportunity. Any information provided will be treated as confidential and non-binding but note it may be used to inform the final specification, brief and pricing document.
The questionnaire on the In-Tend portal contains information in the form of supporting documents to support the completion of the questionnaire. If you require further clarity of information, please submit enquiries/questions via the In-tend portal link.
All information required for completing the questionnaire is included in the document itself. Please only submit completed questionnaires via the In-Tend portal, as company literature or promotional material will not be considered.
