two.2.4) Description of the procurement at the time of conclusion of the contract:

The UKHSA End User Devices (EUD) Refresh project seeks to replace all end user devices in the estate and to update the operating system in use to Windows 11. It also includes technical preparation work to ensure application compatibility, user functionality and enhanced security features are tested and validated to meet requirements. This technical preparation is the Technical and Infrastructure Readiness project. The other project areas are User Communications and Business Change, Hardware and Peripherals, and Deployment and Logistics.

This EUD Refresh project will deliver the following outcomes:

• Replacement of aging and failing EUDs (laptops, tablets & desktops) across the user estate.
• Update to Windows 11, a modern and supported operating system, and to retain Microsoft Operating System support.
• Move to a cloud-based management service for device configuration and asset tracking.
• Mitigate the increasing cyber security threats unresolved in the current Windows 10 operating system and connectivity architecture.
