The type of contract to be awarded is a contract for services for the provision of up to 16 residential care home placements for 24 hours per day 7 days per week, 52 weeks per year. The placements are for adults (i.e. aged 16 and above) with assessed needs, some of whom may have physical and/or learning disabilities/mental health problems.

Description of renewals

The initial contract period for the provision of the Services will be two years (24 months), with options to extend thereafter for up to an additional three years (36 months). The maximum, total contact period with be five years (60 months).

three.1.1) Suitability to pursue the professional activity, including requirements relating to enrolment on professional or trade registers

List and brief description of conditions

1 Must demonstrate ability and readiness to provide residential services ready for contract start date on 01 April 2023.

2 Must be a fully compliant and registered care home provider. The premises must also be registered with the Care Inspectorate.

3 Three years audited or company accounts; bank reference to the minimum value of 1,000,000 GBP; evidence of current Employers and Public Liability Insurances to a minimum value of 10,000,000 and 5,000,000 GBP respectively.

4 Must demonstrate sufficient experience of having delivered residential services.

The Care Inspectorate is the regulatory organisation for these services.

The Contract shall be for an initial period of two years (24 months), with options to extend annually for up to a further 3 x 12 month periods. Total maximum contract will be 5 years (60 months).

The Contracting Authority may exclude any economic operator from the procurement procedure if, in the Contracting Authority's sole opinion, the economic operator cannot demonstrate that it can provide the service from 1st April 2023.
