Scope
Description
We are recruiting multiple contractors with former experience as directors of public health to provide tailored and bespoke support to councils to complete and respond to the findings from their self-assessments. Contractors will work with the PCH team (Senior Adviser and Adviser) to provide support and will be allocated to councils across the country. Issuing of a contract is not a guarantee of work.
Contractors will be required to:
•Review the council's self-assessment and any background materials shared by the council
•Produce slides to summarise the council's self-assessment, pulling out key themes and areas for improvement
•Liaise with the council's assigned officer to ensure the self-assessment will be completed on time, to ensure attendance at the session, to finalise materials and ensure all logistical details have been arranged (council responsible for practical arrangements)
•Attend planning meetings with the council and DPH to understand the context and tailor the session to the council's/DPH's unique context, ambitions and objectives
•Plan and facilitate the in-person workshop, leading delivery on the day alongside another facilitator or member of the PCH team with a focus on actions for improvement
•Provide feedback to PCH Senior Adviser and Adviser following sessions including a brief report on the themes from the session and actions/priorities agreed
Specifically, we require the contractors to:
•Provide expert advice, guidance and support to the DPH to undertake the self-assessment and address the findings
•Lead the scoping, design and delivery of the in-person workshop to achieve local objectives
•Lead on the drafting of the analysis and preparation of materials for workshops e.g. agenda, slides
•Liaise with the LGA Senior Adviser and Adviser to ensure materials and outputs are prepared on time e.g. summary reports and analysis
•Liaise directly with the DPH/Consultants and their teams and keep the LGA informed of progress
•Prepare any materials and do any pre-work required
•Produce a summary following support for the Senior Adviser and Adviser, including how the workshop went, the actions and priorities identified for improvement, any key themes/insights from the day and any requests for further support
