two.1.4) Short description

South Gloucestershire Council are looking to refurbish the existing toilet block at Page Park in Staple Hill. The existing building is to be remodelled to provide public toilets including one all-access enlarged toilet with baby changing facilities and buggy access, one all-access accessible toilet and one changing places facility access with a registered fob. The sanitaryware is generally to be accessed from behind via a service corridor. The existing parapet is to be reduced in height, and a new hipped roof constructed. Existing openings are to be infilled with masonry and new openings formed. A new ramped access in front of the toilet block will be laid to allow level access in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 1995 and Access to and Use of Buildings: Approved Document M (AD Doc M).

The works generally consist of:

• Forming new openings and roof

• Installing toilet facilities and fixtures

• New doors, finishes and the like

• Mechanical and Electrical installations

• New drainage

• Forming external ramp and pavings.
