Description

Wrexham County Borough Council (WCBC) is looking to appoint a single Contractor via a JCT Measured Term Contract (MTC) to carry out the servicing and maintenance of renewable energy, heating and hot water systems, including the installation and replacement of equipment as and when necessary. The contract period will be for an initial two years with the option to extend for a further two periods of two years (2+2+2).

The scope of work in this contract contains the servicing of air source heat pumps, solar thermal hot water systems, unvented hot water systems, and Electric Hyco Water Heaters, including all associated pipe work, fittings and building works. The successful Contractor will be required to provide a 24-hour emergency call out service, 365 days a year.

The Contractor is also required to respond to any call outs in relation to a failure of the heating or hot water systems. This is also to include any associated pipework or fittings.

The contracted work will be undertaken at a variety of locations including residential housing/dwellings, "void" dwellings and Sheltered Housing Units. The successful Contractor will be expected to travel across the County Borough.

Options

The right to additional purchases while the contract is valid.

Throughout the duration of this Contract it may be possible that the quantities involved increase and that additional sites / locations are added.

The Council is committed to reducing its carbon emissions and the renewable energy solutions covered within this contract are one way in which the Council is reducing its emissions. As a result of this, the quantities involved within this contract may increase over the coming years if the Council seeks to utilise more renewable energy, heating and hot water systems to support carbon reduction/net zero targets, although the Council cannot guarantee that there will be any sort of increase at the time of tender.

It may also be possible that the Council receives additional funding, or an increase in budget, that will allow for an increase in service provision / units / or equivalent supplied through this Contract.

Where additional funding / budget becomes available, regardless of its source, the Council may request the successful Contractor to increase or enhance the service being provided. Examples include:

- An increase in the number of renewable energy, heating and / or hot water systems to be serviced, maintained, and / or installed through this Contract.

- Additional staffing resources, equipment or systems where relevant.
