two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Boleyn Trust has eight high performing schools based in Newham and Tower Hamlets. It also includes an established highly renowned teaching school.

The Trust is looking for contractors to demonstrate their experience and expertise to manage the catering services across its member primary academies, and to provide high quality hospitality services to the Trust and the Teaching School.

The schools included in this exercise are:

• Shaftesbury Primary School

• Cleves Primary School

• New City Primary School

• Ravenscroft Primary School

• Rosetta Primary School

• Tollgate Primary School

• Monega Primary School

• Clara Grant Primary School

Further schools may join the Trust and contract during the contract term, following a due diligence process.

Services are currently provided by three different caterers

Each school retains its own ethos and independence - all with high expectations for the outcomes of their pupils. Demographics amongst the academies differ, therefore a flexible service provision is required to meet the differing needs of each academy.

Historically, in addition to Universal Free School Meals (UIFSM) Newham was one of only three local authorities in the country to provide free school meals to junior pupils. Funding for Junior School Meal is currently being funded by the London Mayor. It is therefore expected that the caterer will focus on ensuring every pupil takes advantage of their free school meal allowance.

In order to ensure competition, transparency and value for money, this procurement will be conducted in accordance with the Light Touch regime (LTR) as implemented in the UK by the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 or as may be amended.
