Maldon District Council are tendering for an operating provider to manage the leisure centres across the district. The service will cover the following sites,

•Blackwater Leisure Centre (BLC)

•Dengie Hundred Sports Centre (DHSC)

In addition the management of the Splash Park in Promenade Park will be included.

This tender process is in accordance with the 'Competitive Procedure with Negotiation' under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as amended from time to time)

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Sport and Community Programme shall provide a busy community Sport and Community venue which includes daytime and evening use for seven days a week. There should be a balance of commercial and community events, hires and activities and shall include innovative and non-traditional or specialist activities that appeal to a wider audience. There should be a focus upon the delivery of activities and the enabling of support outside of the core Sport and Community in order to make them more accessible to priority groups and appeal to residents who would not ordinarily visit a Sport and Community venue. The Sport and Community Programme will have a focus on increasing Sport and Community participation / opportunities, throughout the day and evening for seven days a week, for both commercial and community programmes. The Operator shall provide use of the facilities (hire charges to apply) to support local community (Sport and Community) initiatives.
