Play areas provide a range of challenging experiences for children in a relatively safe environment where they can develop skills such as creativity, meet other children and become more independent.
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council (the council) currently has over 150 play areas and 14 ball courts throughout the borough and are committed to maintaining them to ensure the equipment is safe and in good working order. The Council is seeking to appoint a contractor to supply both a planned and reactive repair service encompassing all of the play areas and ball courts within the borough. The successful contractor will be capable of repairing all makes and types of play equipment together with surface repairs. Please see Appendix C for the locations of the sites and Appendix D for an asset list of current equipment.
The contract will be for a period of three years with an option to extend for a period of two further years (3 + 1+ 1).
This procurement process is being conducted in accordance with the Public Contract Regulations 2015, under an Open Procedure.
