Community effort and volunteering are of vital importance to the Authority in moving forward on key priorities, and to enable local people to make a positive difference to their community and environment.

The Authority aims to ensure that volunteering is promoted effectively to local organisations, both voluntary and private sector, so that they can understand the benefits to their organisation. Training and support is often needed to assist organisations to attract and retain the right volunteer for their organisation.
