Hampshire County Council are seeking qualified and experienced providers to tender for the provision of Healthwatch Hampshire, a Local Healthwatch for all age groups covering the county of Hampshire (excluding Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight).
Local Healthwatch is the independent champion for people who use health and social care services. Healthwatch exists to make sure that those running services, and the Government, put people at the heart of care. Its core purpose is to understand the needs, experiences and concerns of children, young people and adults who use health and social care services and to speak out on their behalf. To fulfil this purpose, Local Healthwatch is required to be:
Independent in purpose - amplifying the voice and experiences of the most pressing and difficult issues in health and social care.
Independent in voice - speaking up on behalf of sometimes unpopular causes or groups who are marginalised and/or face disadvantages or discrimination.
Independent in action - designing and delivering activities that best meet the needs of the people they serve.
There are two main elements to Local Healthwatch:
Public and patient involvement: To actively engage communities in a dialogue about their health and social care needs to ensure that services and commissioners act upon feedback and can demonstrate that they have done so, thereby driving continuous improvement.
Information, signposting and advice: A service to provide, or signpost to, information about local health and care services including, how to access them and make informed choices.

This open tender relates to the delivery of Healthwatch Hampshire.
Local Healthwatch is the independent champion for people who use health and social care services. Its core purpose is to understand the needs, experiences and concerns of children, young people and adults who use health and social care services and to speak out on their behalf.
The fixed budget for the entire duration of the contract is £1,247,590.00, £249,518 per annum.
However should additional funding become available, and the Authority gain permission of further spend, this provides an opportunity to increase the value by up to 25%.
