Description
The Authority is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced Contractors to enter into a framework agreement (Framework) for the delivery of its Fire Alarms, Fire Fighting Equipment and Intruder Alarms Repairs and Servicing Works (the Works) to assist with the delivery of the Authority's capital investment plan. The Framework arrangement will consist of an initial term (period) of 2 years, with 2 further options to extend up to 12 months each at the sole discretion of the Authority.

Lot 1. Fire Alarms and Fire Fighting Equipment works
Description
Fire Alarms and Fire Fighting Equipment Works - The work required under this framework includes, but is not limited, to:
• Routine maintenance of fire extinguishers and fire fighting equipment in accordance with BS 5839
• Annual checks on dry risers
• Re-setting fire detection panels when required
• Repairing or replacing defective sounders/detectors/panels
• Fault finding on wiring and zones
• Surveying building for proposed fire equipment/detection requirements as per BS 5839

Lot 2. Intruder Alarms Works
Description
The work required under this framework includes, but is not limited to:
• Routine maintenance in accordance with BS 4737 Parts 1, 3 and 4
• Checking all devices against system record
• Checking signalling equipment
• Re-setting panels when required
• Repairing or replacing defective sounders/detectors/panels
• Fault finding on wiring and zones
The exact nature of the individual works to be undertaken under the Contract, will be detailed at the point of the request notification.

Lot 3. Overarching framework arrangement Lot 3
Description
The Authority will review the submissions to the opportunity to tender and decide which represents best value for money before deciding whether to split the work into two lots.

Framework operation description
Following this tender exercise, it is envisaged that at least 3 Contractors will be appointed to the Framework.
It is intended that there will be either :
- 2 lots on the Framework: Fire Alarms and Fire Fighting Equipment Works (Lot 1) and Intruder Alarms Works (Lot 2) or
- 1 Lot, with no division of Lots providing the full service (Lot 1 and Lot 2) with one overarching framework arrangement, Lot 3.
The Authority will review the submissions to the opportunity to tender and decide which represents best value for money before deciding whether to split the work into two lots.
The remaining operational information will either apply to each lot individually, or to the framework as a whole once the Authority has confirmed whether work is to be split.
The Contractor providing best value, ranked number 1, from the initial tender results, will be awarded the Works for the first twenty-four months of the Framework.
