The Contract is for the provision of Banbridge Town Centre Public Realm scheme and will include Excavation and disposal of existing footpath and road surface High quality paving finishes and kerbing using natural stone New footpath alignments Provision and installation of street furniture, railings and tree planting Road surfacing, ramping, parking and line marking Works to existing services including lighting New drainage to connect to existing street drainage and sewers Footpath realignment works Installation of event infrastructure Bespoke feature lighting Signage Pedestrian gateway features New civic shared spaces Requirement for close liaison with utility companies and statutory bodies e.g. DfI Roads The project seeks to improve the quality and usability of a number of important streets, structures and spaces within Banbridge Town Centre to make the areas more attractive to town centre users and provide a unique sense of place. This is a large project across a busy town centre and multiple spaces and restricted streets that include; Scarva Street; Scarva St/Commercial St Junction; Newry Street; Bridge Street; Linenhall Street; Victoria Street; Downshire Link; Downshire Bridge; and Bann Bridge. The project requires high quality measures that will improve the sense of arrival for visitors, improve connectivity between the main streets and car parks and create attractive civic space within the heart of the town, the enhancement of the bridge over the River Bann and Downshire Bridge (known as The Cut), and the delivery of a public realm scheme for a series of linkages.
