The design development and construction of a new build secondary school to replace existing accommodation at Shimna Integrated College, 5A King Street, Newcastle BT33 0HD. Accommodation totals approximately 10,000sqm and is arranged across three storeys. Works are to include for hard and soft play areas, roads and car-parking and all ancillary works, including sitewide cut and fill, together with mechanical and electrical services provision. The project involves demolition of the existing school facilities. The project is to be delivered to BIM level 2. The project involves a phased approach, generally anticipated as follows: Phase 1 - construction new build excluding sports hall and related accommodation Phase 2 - demolition existing accommodation excluding sports hall Phase 3 - construction new build sports hall Phase 4 - demolition existing sports hall The contract period is anticipated to be approximately 30 months.
