two.1.4) Short description

Gloucestershire County Council seeks to commission a disability-focussed organisation to deliver an Expert by Experience (EBE) led Quality Assurance (QA) Service. The Service will be an integral part of Gloucestershire’s QA programme. The programme provides oversight, support and scrutiny across health and social care services commissioned for individuals with learning disabilities, physical and sensory disabilities, mental health issues and/or autism.

The Service will be responsible for undertaking quality assurance assessments across the range of the disabilities care and support sector. The Service will be led by an organisation who have the skills, knowledge and proficiency to be able to do so comprehensively.

The Service will hold the role of Experts by Experience at the forefront, ensuring their knowledge, skills and experience are utilised to direct and develop the Service as well as lead the findings and recommendations it makes to commissioned services.

The Service will offer a crucial platform for all individuals receiving care and support services, regardless of their condition or diagnosis, to be able to provide feedback on the support services they receive in a way they feel comfortable to do so, in a peer-to-peer environment with the appropriate tools to be able to communicate in the way that best suits them.
