Provision of Neurosurgery Inpatient and Outpatient Services - HUTHT

NHS Health Humber Partnership intends to the follow the PSR Most Suitable Provider process to award a contract for the provision of Neurosurgery inpatient and outpatient work commencing 1st November 2024 for a period of 4-6mths or as may be required to achieve the required backlog reduction.

The intention of this notice is that providers who can deliver the full scope of required services are able to express their interest.

Only providers who can cover all aspects of neurosurgical activity, including complex spinal and cancer elective care, including degenerative spine, neuro-oncology, skull base, pituitary and neuro-vascular work, will be considered. This is a key requirement.

Any inpatient/outpatient lists will be run from Castle Hill Hospital and Hull Royal Infirmary. The provider will be responsible for supplying suitably accredited consultants to deliver the outpatient and theatre lists. The cohort of patients to be treated will be those under the care of Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, as such providers must be able to accommodate this locality.

All staff who work under the provider must possess the appropriate qualification/certification, current enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certification and possess prior NHS experience. All patients will be treated in line with accepted national standards, NICE guidance and NHS England Specialised Commissioned Service Specifications and noting the Complex Spinal registry for Surgical Services.

This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intended approach notice. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award.
The intention is to award a contract using the Most Suitable Provider process.
