In 2025 the council intends to let contracts for various strands of support to enable resettled families to adapt to life in the UK and lead independent and productive lives.

This support will include: initial reception and integration casework support, coordinating/ensuring access to English language provision, translation and interpreting, advice on access to services and entitlements, assessment and support for employability, development of self-reliance and social capital and other support to meet needs identified over time.

The term of support for each family is between three and five years from arrival, with per capita funding tapering over that term.

The Council intends to consult organisations with relevant experience on options for how services might be combined, commissioned, and delivered in order to deliver the most effective support over the full term.

This will include taking on support for those families already in Devon. By the end of 2024 there will have been 104 households (423 people) resettled in Devon. Whilst resettlement is led by the Home Office, local districts councils have indicated and ongoing commitment to further local arrivals in the coming years.

Devon County Council will be holding an initial market engagement session via Teams on Tuesday 12th November 2024 from 11-12.
