Richmondshire District Council is one of the largest districts in England.
It has a population of 51,400 (according to the most recent information
available on the Richmondshire District Council website) and covers 509 square
miles. Richmondshire District Council is one of the most sparsely populated
District Councils in the country, its boundaries stretching from the River Tees
to Cumbria.
Richmondshire District Council owns and manages a housing stock of 1,600
properties, most of which are of traditional construction. The Council intends
to appoint a single contractor and is now seeking expressions of interest from
suitably experienced contractor partners to be invited to tender for the works
shown below.
The planned replacement works will be allocated annually and will consist of
some or all of the following types of works:
External Doors & Windows;
Kitchens & Bathrooms;
Roofing, Soffits, Fascia’s and Gutters;
Central Heating, including Boiler Replacements;
Rewiring;
Asbestos Removal; and
Installation of Residential Sprinklers and Residential Solar Panels.
The anticipated annual value of these works could be in the region of
£1.2 million and it is expected work will commence in year one no later
than 1 June 2015. It is currently envisaged that the form of delivery contract
will be a TPC2005. It is intended that call-offs shall be made throughout the
life of the contract including the final year and may last beyond the life of
the contract.
It is anticipated that TUPE may apply.
The term of the contract is sixty (60) months with the option to extend for
a further forty eight (48) months, which will be at the Council’s discretion.
The Council will have no rights to use alternative suppliers during the term of
the contract.
The tendering process will be electronic via the ‘YorTender’ portal.
