NHS Procurement Wales, on behalf of the Cardiff and Vale UHB are looking to implement a contract with a courier service to transfer blood samples and prescriptions. The successful bidder will provide a courier service that can meet the needs of a routine schedule of the dialysis units but can also support ad hoc requests or changes to meet the service needs.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

NHS Procurement Wales, on behalf of the Cardiff and Vale UHB are looking to implement a contract with a courier service to transfer blood samples and prescriptions. The successful bidder will provide a courier service that can meet the needs of a routine schedule of the dialysis units but can also support ad hoc requests or changes to meet the service needs.There are two units based in the locality of Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB, Llantrisant Dialysis Unit and Merthyr Dialysis Unit. The Health Board have historically used taxis to take blood samples every day to laboratories based in Royal Glamorgan Hospital and Prince Charles Hospital. Virology screening is also requested for patients every 3 months and these samples are taken to the laboratories in University Hospital of Wales. These units along with two units based in the locality of Aneurin Bevan UHB also rely on taxis to pick up prescriptions from the central pharmacy store in Cardiff. The Health Board wish to put a contract in place with a reliable courier service to carry out this work daily.

1. The Contracting Authority reserves the right to award the contract in whole, in part or annul the tendering process and not award

contract.

of clarification or consistency the Contracting Authority will not negotiate the terms.

3. The Contracting Authority will not accept completed ITT's after the stated closing date.
