HS2 considers that the intended modification described in this notice is not substantial within the meaning of Regulation 88.7 of the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016. In addition, this modification may fall into the category of modifications in Regulation 88.1(b) of the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016 (and this has been noted in VII.2.2 below). In any event, HS2 considers that the intended modification falls within the scope of the original contract notice published in the Official Journal of the European Union and HS2 is therefore publishing this notice in the interests of completeness and transparency. seven.2.1) Description of the modifications

The new value of the contract in VII.1.6 is the estimated maximum new value, but the value of the additional work may range from nil to 38000000 GBP.
The purpose of the modification is to permit HS2 to instruct its Track Systems Contractors to procure slab track supplies for the tunnel sections of the current route through this contract rather than through their own supply arrangements.
Please note that the values in this notice are in relation to the core goods and services and exclude the optional services available to the Track Systems Contractors related to logistics. The value of optional services was originally 13000000 GBP in addition to the 260000000 GBP total contract value, and the estimated maximum new value of these optional services is 15000000 GBP in addition to the Total contract value after the modifications of 292000000 GBP; but the value of additional optional work may range from nil to 2000000 GBP.

The purpose of the modification is to permit HS2 Ltd to instruct its Track Systems Contractors to procure additional slab track supplies through this contract for the tunnel sections of the current route rather than through their own supply arrangements.
