two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) is seeking a single provider of educational psychologist services to carry out independent dyslexia assessments for students at the university. The assessments are required for students who have undertaken an in-house dyslexia screening appointment and have displayed indicators of dyslexia that need to be confirmed in a full diagnostic appointment by a suitably qualified professional.The diagnostic appointments should be carried out remotely via suitable online methods and conform to standards set by SpLD Assessment Standards Committee. The university currently expects to send 160 students approximately for a diagnostic assessment per calendar year. While the majority of appointments will be required during academic term dates (September to June), access to assessments is required throughout the year.The following will be expected of the provider:• Liaise directly with ARU students who have been put forward by ARU Disability and Dyslexia Service for a full diagnostic assessment to schedule suitable times and dates for the appointment. • Provide the student with any applicable pre-appointment tasks and associated guidance.• Re-schedule appointments where a minimum 48 hours’ notice of a cancellation is provided. • Re-schedule appointments that cannot be completed for technical reasons or for reasons that are not the fault of ARU or the student.• Conduct the dyslexia assessment remotely, in line with standards set by SpLD Assessment Standards Committee.• Provide ARU with a full report that outlines the diagnosis and recommendations for the student. Reports should meet standards set by Student Finance England when assessing Disabled Student Allowance applications.• Liaise regularly with the ARU Disability and Dyslexia Service co-ordinator to ensure joined up practice between screening, diagnostic appointment and feedback appointment.• To be aware of and comply with ARU’s Cause for Concern procedure.• Have an established complaints procedure, manage any complaints relating to the providers service delivery from ARU students and inform the ARU Disability and Dyslexia Service co-ordinator of outcomes.The provider will not be expected to;• Complete appointments prior to the diagnostic assessment e.g. screening appointments.• Provide feedback appointments following a diagnostic assessment.• Re-schedule an appointment for an individual student on more than one occasion.
