seven.2) Other additional information

This notice contains information in relation to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority requirement to review and procure the provision of services and goods related to engaging people in active travel activity and providing support for people to walk, cycle, wheel and scoot as part of everyday journeys.

The purpose of the supplier engagement event is to engage with suppliers in this domain and review current offerings/models available in the market.

The Combined Authority have an established behaviour change programme that delivers communication and engagement activity to target audiences in West Yorkshire, to enable more people to travel more actively, to help us achieve our ambitions for West Yorkshire to become a net-zero carbon economy by 2038.

The Combined Authority are currently in the process of putting in place a framework that will cover multiple individual projects/requirements, and also looking at the future pipeline of upcoming requirements that will support the delivery of the behaviour change programme.

We are looking to procure the provision of cycling and walking engagement services and goods that will support the delivery of this programme across an initial period of 3 years.

A supplier engagement session allows the CA to engage with suppliers in a two-way communication process. This provides an informal environment for the CA to understand exactly what suppliers can provide, whilst at the same time allowing suppliers to understand the CA’s organisation and requirements.

Supplier engagement sessions are held before commencement of a procurement process and will consist of individual supplier-specific sessions.

The supplier engagement session will last around 1 hour in duration. During this session, we will look to broaden our knowledge of the following themes:

Theme 1 Developing an inclusive cycling activity offer for West Yorkshire £204,913

Theme 2 Delivering cycling activity in schools £220,000

Theme 3 Delivering walking engagement activity for schools £240,000

Theme 4 Delivering walking engagement activity for businesses £240,000

Theme 5 Provision of beginner-level bikes (Year 1) £45,000

Provision of beginner-level bikes (Year 2 to 4) £248,000

The supplier engagement session will take place via Microsoft Teams on Thursday 13th October 2022 at 9am.

Invites shall be distributed via email and a link will be shared on YORtender

Please confirm attendance on this day by sending an e-mail to commercialteam@west-yorks.co.gov.uk, quoting the reference “59789 - WYCA Active Travel Behaviour Change Activity and Support- Supplier Engagement Session”.
