two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The proposal is for a 3.0m wide sealed surface causeway path and associated drainage to run from the eastern edge of Penpont village following field margins as it heads towards Burnhead. The route involves crossing the A702 to the east of Penpont village and stays in the southern field margin north of the road until reaching Burnhead where it joins the local roads. Build out works are required at the C road junction with the A702 before the route moves back into field margin alignment. The end section of this phase involves a large ramp to enable the route to descend an escarpment before halting at a further minor road known locally as Drumlanrig Road. Wherever possible, the path design will aim to achieve a 3m wide sealed surface (asphalt) path with 0.5m shoulders/grass verge on both sides. This reduces to 2.5m in places due to constraints.
