North Hertfordshire District Council’s Tree Maintenance Strategy aims to establish a tree population that has a wide age range and diverse species mix, conduct maintenance and conservation work of trees; and improve the safety of trees. Maintenance works may be routine, arise from customer enquiries, or from our independent tree surveys or emergencies. The Council has no in-house maintenance operation so the service must be contracted out to external suppliers. The Council believes that this contract has the potential of delivering benefits under the Social Value Act 2012

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to provide tree maintenance services across the district from 2023 to 2027.The value of the Contract over the four-year period is estimated to be in the region of £600,000 exclusive of VAT. Details of this expenditure is derived from current expenditure and is provided in good faith in order to assist you. This figure should not be interpreted in any way as a guaranteed undertaking to purchase services and this value does not form part of the Contract. The Council proposes to enter into a Framework Agreement with a maximum of four service providers. The term of this Framework Agreement will be for a maximum duration of four years.
