two.1.4) Short description
The AMRC North West as part of the University of Sheffield are tendering for multiple lots within an overarching project to demonstrate the capability of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and smart technology usage cases to reduce the carbon footprint of a manufacturing site. The project will raise awareness of the latest technology and will be retro-fittable to legacy manufacturing facilities. The technology will be able to provide a tangible benefit to the carbon footprint of a manufacturing site through data capture and visualisation and / or machine cognition.
Please note that two tenders associated with this project will be running concurrently. These are 3125/SW and 3126/SW. The two tenders have differing cost/quality weightings. It is the University's intention to award all lots associated with both tenders, however we reserve the right not to award any lot or all lots.
The estimated budget for this tender is £158,833 but we reserve the right to increase this and an appropriate range overall would be £150,000 to £250,000. It is anticipated this tender may be more appropriate or geared for SME's and/or local suppliers but the tender is not restricted in this sense.
Scope of Requirement:
The equipment / system is required to demonstrate how IIoT can be used in a manufacturing environment to understand, influence, and change the key levers in carbon reduction. A range of technologies will be implemented to understand energy usage, occupancy and asset parameters, environmental conditions, utilisation of micro grid technology and visualisation through a user-friendly dashboard. The system will need to be supported or controllable to evolve and integrate system adaptations and enlargement, to support the project goals of demonstrating the potential benefits. The AMRC/University requires a warranty, delivery to site and on-site installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing. The supplier needs to be able to maintain and demonstrate the ability to maintain the future operation of the system. The AMRC/University requires a service and maintenance contract for the duration of the manufacturer's warranty and to not invalidate the manufacturer's terms and conditions of warranty. Training and technical support is required within the scope of the tender to assist and embed the use of the equipment/system. Please refer to the tender documents for full information in regard to our requirement, the specification and the contract particulars.
