This is an invitation for suppliers of retrofittable zero emission drivetrain technologies to perform a feasibility study on the conversion of existing diesel vehicles from Translink’s fleet to zero emission technologies. Translink has a goal to be carbon neutral by 2040 and the conversion of vehicles may be a feasible alternative to the purchase of new vehicles, particularly where there is no obvious replacement in the current market. This study will include access to Translink vehicles in order to assess key data such as feasibility of conversion, most suitable technology, space and weight constraints, options for auxiliary solutions (power assisted steering, air compressor, heating etc), indicative costs and timescales for conversion.
