Sensory Services has been broken down into 2 Lots:

Lot 1 - The Vision Loss Holistic Service provides support and advice to adults who experience sight loss in Liverpool. Visual Rehabilitation is provided to adults who are registered as Severely Sight Impaired or Sight Impaired, or will be eligible to be so in the future. Visual Rehabilitation provides equipment, support and advice to support adults living with sight loss. The service specialises in three main areas; Mobility, Communication and Independent Living Skills.

Lot 2 - The service will undertake holistic assessments of needs with individuals who experience hearing loss, the assessment and provision of equipment, provision of advice and guidance as well as the delivery of low-level support. This contract will require the Provider to work with the vision impairment service provider, in order to develop services further. This includes an agreed process to follow in supporting people who are Deaf-Blind.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Vision Loss Holistic Service provides support and advice to adults who experience sight loss in Liverpool. This includes the provision of Visual Rehabilitation. Visual Rehabilitation is provided to adults who are registered as Severely Sight Impaired or Sight Impaired or will be eligible to be so in the future.

Visual Rehabilitation provides equipment, support and advice to support adults living with sight loss. The service specialises in three main areas; Mobility, Communication and Independent Living Skills. Visual Rehabilitation is usually provided in a person’s home, with some support offered at Bradbury Fields’ Centre.

The Vision Loss Holistic Service provides an Eye Clinic Liaison Officer (ECLO) in both Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Aintree University Hospital.

The service will undertake holistic assessments of needs with individuals who experience hearing loss, the assessment and provision of equipment, provision of advice and guidance as well as the delivery of low-level support.

This contract will require the Provider to work with the vision impairment service provider, in order to develop services further. This includes an agreed process to follow in supporting people who are Deaf-Blind.

This specification will detail that there will be one provider contracted to provide a holistic service, which will incorporate all aspects of service delivery.

Any long-term personal care needs identified should be referred onto the Commissioning Authority’s routine referral process.

The Service shall specifically exclude;

c. Provision of Personal Care

d. Provision of Meals

e. Provision of Transport
