The development of the DPS is to allow the appropriate process to be put in place to secure a new provider where required in a timely and efficient manner. If NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde wishes to select a new service provider for a practice, the provider must have the capacity and capability to meet the needs of the patients by delivering high quality, patient-centred clinical services in a primary care setting.
It is expected that future providers will build on existing best practice, and focus on a community and health and social care approach.
