North Lincolnshire Council has a vehicle fleet of approximately 380 vehicles to support us to deliver our statutory and non-statutory functions. Currently most of this fleet is powered by diesel but we know we need to move towards equipment that has lower environmental impacts, including lower CO2, NOx emissions and lower sound levels.
To develop our services for the future we are asking Mainstream Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and/or suppliers of Mainstream OEM equipment (whether you work with us currently or not) to provide their insight on what might be possible over the next few years; what problems/issues need to be overcome and help set realistic expectations and timetables for the Authority to adopt equipment with lower environmental impacts.
We have an aspiration goal to have a zero carbon fleet operating by 2030 and we are looking to implement this through our fleet replacement programme over the next 9 years.
