The London Borough of Waltham Forest is committed to supporting local businesses across the borough to mitigate the adverse and ongoing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

As part of our continued commitment, we are commissioning a Covid-19 Business Recovery and Growth Programme.

We are inviting tender submissions from suitable supplier/and or suppliers, to work in partnership with us, to support local businesses to survive and pivot towards economic recovery, growth and sustainability, through a programme of tailored business support.

The tender has been split into two Lots, Lot 1: Pre-Start Up and Start Up business support and Lot 2: Scale Up business support.

Through the Invitation to Tender process we are inviting bidders to bid for either Lot 1 or Lot 2 or both of the Lots i.e. Lot1&2 if desirable.

To deliver a range of business support activities to help the business community in recovery, connectedness, resilience, growth and prosperity.

The economic disruption caused by Covid-19 has resulted in major difficulties for many businesses across the Borough. Pre-and post-pandemic challenges faced by businesses (of all sizes) across the Borough include:

• Loss of income

• Limited access to funding

• Cashflow issues – especially as lending reduces

• Loss of customers and footfall

• Workforce retention

• Recruiting new talent

• Developing new ways of driving income

• Having to start all over again – new business delivery models/approaches to win customers and generate income

• Adapting and complying with Covid 19 social distancing measures

• Digital marketing and communications to attract new customers

• Understanding consumer trends and adapting sales strategies to changing target market preferences

• Buying and selling on-line

• Commercial leasing

• Debt management and legal proceedings

• Mental health, wellbeing and resilience e.g. Loss of self-confidence, anxiety due to Covid 19 pandemic uncertainty.

The programme will support micro businesses, SMEs, corporates, established businesses and the self-employed in the London Borough of Waltham Forest (the business trading address must be in the borough of Waltham Forest, or in the case of self-employed individuals, the person must reside in the borough of Waltham Forest).
