A high-level indication is provided below. At this early design stage, the requirements below are indicative and may change as the design and requirements are developed.SITE CLEARANCEThe 11ha site will require the removal of inert and contaminated materials. The total estimated volume of the site level excavation are as follows: 113,000 m3 reduced level excavation; removal of approx. 90,000 m3 inert, 17,000 m3 non–hazardous, and 6,000 m3 hazardous material.To complete the ground preparation works a capping layer will be formed at a depth of 300mm to deliver a development platform enabling use of the site for hardstanding. The total volume of capping layer will be approximately 33,000 m3.All metrics provided are indicative at this early stage in the project to inform the scale of the works only, and are subject to change pending further investigation, survey and design works.NEW ROADThe work is expected to consist of construction of a new single carriageway road and remedial work to the existing carriageway.The works required will be the refurbishment and widening of approx. 1,000lm of existing carriageway and approx. 1,000lm of new single carriageway construction ; the total distance of road construction will be approximately 2,000 Im.SAND QUARRY RESTORATIONSite restoration of a former sand quarry comprising site clearance, excavation and other earthworks .The material removed is likely to include inert, contaminated non-hazardous and contaminated hazardous materials. The approximate volumes of this material are included within those stated for Site Clearance above. There will be approximately 237,000m3 of fill required utilising on site and imported material.As the programme develops and the design matures, further requirements are likely.HABITAT IMPROVEMENT WORKSHabitat works for ecological mitigation, including but not limited to the design and implementation of landscaping works.UTILITIES AND DRAINAGEEarthworks in connection with utilities and drainage.TIMELINEThe procurement of the requirements are likely to commence during Autumn 2024.
