Middlesex University requires a supplier who has the ability to deliver this contract and can demonstrate previous experience and a broad skills base in the provision of systems supporting the research lifecycle. We recognise that the digital services needed to underpin and support research are multi-faceted and complex. We see the adoption of this integrated digital research management and support service as crucial to providing effective and efficient management of the research lifecycle and associated resources and informing decision-making and planning which will enable us to be more proactive in securing and mobilising funding and resources, as well as promoting research outputs and expertise to funders and potential partners for increased research impact. Middlesex University requires a supplier who has the ability to deliver this contract and can demonstrate previous experience and a broad skills base in the provision of systems supporting the research lifecycle. We require a solution for integrated digital research information management, with the scope of requirements encompassingA) A core module for research information management (including integration with (or replacement and migration off) the current Eprints research repository and Figshare data repository for research output and academic staff profile management),B) An ethics module for managing ethics applications and approvals, C) Functionality to enable us to manage the postgraduate research degree student lifecycle from registration to degree award, marking milestones, which integrates with our MISIS student records system. D) Reporting and analytics which support all stages of the research lifecycle and allow data to be extracted for use in our Tableau reports.E) An easy-to-use, engaging, and seamless interface for use by both academics and professional services staff, which supports the research lifecycle and acts as the ‘single source of truth’ We wish to be able to implement CRIS functionality in a staged modular approach, with initial modules covering the following core areas of functionality:• Core Research Information management – Including o integration with HR and Finance (Oracle PAFIS), o Pre- and Post-Award research funding management, including costings and project milestones, notifications of funding and knowledge exchange opportunities, o links to research outputs including integration with (or replacement of) our Research Repository (Eprints) and Figshare research data repository, o provision of researcher/academic staff profiles to encourage engagement and facilitate reporting and analytics at various levels within the organisation and integration with our mdx.ac.uk site to allow these to be presented as a means of raising our staff profile.• Post-Graduate Research Student progression – encompassing registration, key milestones, supervisor meetings and feedback, encouraging student engagement, and supporting the overall postgraduate research student lifecycle.• Ethics – Integration with Infonetica (or replacement of) functionality to manage research ethics applications and approvals.
