The background of this contract is that the Discover My Benefits (DMB) is an interactive website that allows for service personnel, their families, and potential recruits to see all the benefits and allowances for which they may be eligible. Continued provision of the DMB site and technical maintenance of the site is required.

seven.2) Information about modifications

seven.2.1) Description of the modifications

Nature and extent of the modifications (with indication of possible earlier changes to the contract):

This requirement is for the Discover My Benefits Scheme (DMB) to be extended for a further 7 months. There is to be an uplift in the contract value by £450,000 from £1.71M to £2.16M. The contract requires various changes and improvements to its technical maintenance, to ensure it keeps pace with user needs and other integrated HR systems.

seven.2.2) Reasons for modification

Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee.

Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances:

There is to be technical maintenance of the site, to allow it to keep pace with user needs and other integrated systems. Maintenance will incur a cost increase to the value of the contract. There was a submission for transfer of ownership to another department in March 2022, this re-let period will allow this transfer and integration to take place, whilst the current scheme is still in place.
