two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Stafford Borough Council wishes to appoint a supplier to undertake the following for public buildings: Minor Works and Maintenance, PAT Testing, Fire Alarm Maintenance, Gas Servicing, and Maintenance of Boilers.
The electrical contractor shall undertake all repairs and maintenance of the electrical installation at all Stafford Borough Council public buildings and sites. It may be necessary for the contractor to attend other sites not listed in 1.1 Site Addresses if instructed by the Contract Administrator acting on behalf of the Council. The contractor shall be a member of the NICEIC, ECA or similar and approved organisation.
The contractor shall inspect, test and maintain all fire alarm systems within Stafford Borough Council public buildings.
The contractor shall undertake two six-monthly tests and inspection of the emergency lights in the Stafford Borough Council public buildings
The contractor shall carry out portable appliance testing as indicated by the Electricity at Work Act 1989 as outlined in the Health and Safety Executive's Guidance Note (INDG236)
All work is to be carried out by operatives holding the relevant Gas Safe registration. All operatives will hold current competency certificates in respect of
a) Gas Safety - Commercial
b) Gas Boilers - Commercial
The inspection and maintenance service is intended to demonstrate compliance with the following
• Gas Safe Register
• HSE Approved Code of Practice L56 Safety in the installation and use of gas systems and appliances
• Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998
• Gas Safety (Management) Regulations 1996
• Gas Appliances (Safety) Regulations 1995

This procurement is for a Framework Agreement between the appointed provider and the Contracting Authority, to supply predominately services on an ad-hoc call-off basis, as
and when required.
The Contracting Authority or its public sector partners/Customers makes no guarantee as to the volume of business on offer or to be awarded, and any volumes given are indicative only and intended as a general guide. There is no commitment at the time of tendering from any parties outside of the Contracting Authority and this should be taken into consideration when bidding.
All framework management, post-tender, will be in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The call-off orders will be allocated by terms laid down in the framework.
