two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Tees Valley Combined Authority are seeking early engagement - This means that a procurement idea is currently active, it is in the early stage of development and judging interest from potential suppliers.
It should be noted that this PIN/RFI invites individuals and organisations to express an interest in this RFI exercise only, and it is NOT a pre-qualification questionnaire, and is NOT part of any pre-qualification or selection process. This PIN/RFI is intended as an awareness, communication, and information gathering exercise. An expression of interest is no indication of a commitment to participate in the RFI process nor does it infer any preferential or special status on those individuals and organisations who express an interest in the RFI exercise.
This requires the development of a full business case for submission to the Department for Transport. TVCA's business case will be to fund a five year hydrogen bus pilot to be operated in Tees Valley, to demonstrate the viability of hydrogen as a fuel for public transport and initiate the wider transition to clean fuel technology. The ambition for the project is to replace the equivalent number of the Tees Valley diesel bus fleet with hydrogen buses and invest in hydrogen refuelling infrastructure in Tees Valley.
This is currently advertised on Pro Contract - Reference number DN573202, interested individuals and organisations will need to register on the portal to access and return the RFI documentation. https://procontract.due-north.com/Advert?advertId=3ca7d778-d421-ec11-810e-005056b64545
